At this time, we are only able to collate class list information for those students who are attending in-person classes at Brown JPS. However, whether or not your child is attending in-person, you are more than welcome to sign up to receive the School Council newsletter and to get involved with the Brown JPS School Council!
This year, the School Council will be collecting this information online only. Note that this form is different from any you may have already received from your home room teacher or the school directly and needs to be completed separately.
What is this info for?
This information is for the exclusive use of the school and School Council to better support our Brown JPS community.
How will it be used?
It will be used to create your classroom list (if attending in-person) and connect you with other parents in your child’s class, keep you informed of relevant initiatives and information affecting your child from the School Council and other parents in your class, and let you sign up for volunteer opportunities in the Brown JPS community. You must fill out the attached form and give us your permission in order for the School Council and class parents to be able to send you this important information.

I want to volunteer but how do I know what my volunteer position will entail?
We’ve updated our School Council Roles and Responsibilities to help you understand the different volunteer positions. We’re also flexible and welcome any and all participation – however, works best for you. Click below on “Complete My Form” to see the volunteer positions that are available for this year.
I would like to join the School Council’s executive team. How do I do that?
Elections for our executive team are held every year at the annual general meeting. Due to the delayed school start, this year’s virtual annual general meeting will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 9:30 am. More information on the meeting as well as how to nominate yourself or another person for an executive position or voting member will be coming out in this week’s Panther Press.
I know I want to volunteer with the School Council, but I’m not sure how yet. What can I do?
We welcome everyone’s participation and appreciate that everyone may have different ways they can contribute. Choose an option that plays to your strengths, or choose “I’m not sure yet, but would like to volunteer” and we can let you know where we could use your support.
My child is part of the virtual school this year. Can I still sign up?
Yes, you can! At this time, we are only able to collate class list information for those students who are attending in-person classes at Brown JPS. However, even if your child is attending school virtually, you are more than welcome to sign up to receive the School Council newsletter, stay informed of school news, and even get involved with the Brown JPS School Council!
